Council go-ahead for new £12m primary in Burntisland

Plans for a new £12million primary school in Burntisland have been approved by Fife Council.

The preferred option of constructing a ‘new build' located at East Toll Park at an estimated cost of £12.4 million was agreed by the council's education committee, although a shortfall of £900,000 will have to be met.

The committee agreed to a new build option, with work estimated to start on site in 2013 and be completed in 2014.

Just because the Council owns this land does not mean it is the best site...a bigger school will mean more traffic problems...access problems etc...we need to have public vote on this ....what is wrong with building it at the Waste Ground ....next to the Swimming Pool....and what about the loss of a green playground for the people of Burntisland...where will the kids play football...we need to keep the toll park intact....
